It was already in 1864 when the industrialist from Dubí Anton Tschinkel bought a large building called Lower Forest Mill in present Tovární street in Dubí near Teplice and rebuilt it into a Majolica manufacture. In 1885, the firm O. C. Teuchert from the near Meissen purchased the factory from him and started there production of porcelain in Rococo style with so called “onion” pattern. Its production achieved an extraordinary success and interest of customers which can be seen from the number of parts of the set; in 1929, when the factory was owned by Artur Bloch, it included 257 shapes and until 1956, it was marked with designation MEISSEN in an oval frame.

Now, when you read this introduction, the company’s name is Český porcelán and the number of pieces with the onion design achieves 660 shapes. These products are guaranteed by the Association of Glass and Ceramic Industry of the Czech Republic as a “Czech Product”.

When you have a look, however, into the catalogue of products you discover that the company presents and produces also other products like more than 100 shapes of mugs in 3 thousand decorations or modern suit by prof. Pelcl named Bohemia, consisting of dining, coffee, tea and mocca sets in white, as well as decorated design, awarded with a certificate from the Design Centre of the Czech Republic as an excellent product of 2006, and in 2007 an award from Minister of Industry and Trade of Korean Republic for supertemporal design. This set in its hotel version received an award “Horeca Exhibit “ at the hotel and gastronomy fair in Prague in 2005.

Among our products, you can find also sets in “Praha” shape with Eco decoration, but also the latest news like first pieces of a new series of mythic dwarves, but also seven-colour onion pattern named Natura which is a protected pattern of the manufacturer. You will certainly be attracted by the modern coffee serving set “Triplex“, but also the “Tea set for dark” by the designer Petr Korecký. Also the suit Bohemia Cobalt, very popular in the Japanese market, is worth attention.

Although both our factories, the plant in Dubí specialised in onion porcelain, utility and decorated porcelain, together with the plant Royal Dux in Duchcov producing figural and decorated porcelain, are not the oldest porcelain factories in the Czech country, they are in a position which makes them extraordinary because both of them commemorate, as the only in Bohemia, 100 years of uninterrupted utilization of the original factory trademark, Royal Dux in 2012 and Dubí in 2013!
